It’s a brilliant story for early conversations about the topic of war and refugees. It’s incredibly empathetic and told with heart and humour. A truly wonderful resource and book!

– Immense kindness and perseverance is shown in the boy Adam wanting to become friends with the refugee Layla.
– Adam learns more about why she may be feeling sad which spurs him on to change that.
– Incredible themes of empathy, friendship and displacement.
